Course Development Stipends

City College at Loyola University New Orleans offers course development stipends toward the creation of new, fully online courses or the conversions of existing, in-person courses to fully online. In order to be considered for a course development stipend, the course in question must meet the following criteria:
- The course development has been approved by the Dean or Dean’s office representative of the college in question.
- The course will be developed in a fully online delivery mode, as defined by the Institutional Definitions of Delivery Modes.
- The course is required for an existing or pending fully online degree program, OR the course is considered a “lynchpin” course for an existing or pending fully online degree program, OR the course in question is part of the Loyola Core.
The rates are as follows:
- Converting an in-person, remote, or hybrid full semester course to a fully online, condensed session (5-8 week) course: $2,000
- Converting an in-person, remote, or hybrid condensed session course to a fully online, condensed session (5-8 week) course: $1,500
- Converting a fully online, full semester course to a fully online, condensed session (5-8 week) course: $1,000
- Faculty developing fully online, lab-based, natural sciences courses will receive an additional $500 on top of the above-listed rates
