Health Care Systems Management (HCSM) MSN Program
Admission to the Program
The HCSM program is open to registered nurses who have BSN degrees or to registered nurses with bachelor’s degrees in other fields who complete Loyola’s four-course Bridge Program either in New Orleans or Baton Rouge.
Applications to Loyola’s MSN HCSM program are reviewed as they are received and applicants are typically notified of admission status within a few weeks of submitting applications. New students begin class with the summer term in early June each year, thus applicants are urged to apply by April 15th of each year.
Admission Requirements
Admission to the MSN Health Care Systems Management program requires the following:
- A BSN degree from a school accredited by the National League for Nursing or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, or a bachelor’s degree in any field plus completion of the Loyola MSN Bridge Program
- A current unrestricted RN license in practice in the United States - a copy of the license must be submitted with the application form (send in application packet)
- Submission of an application fee of $20 (check made payable to Loyola University) and an application form (found on the web at http://www.loyno.edu/nursing/management/ under the link called “Admission to the Program” (send in application packet)
- Three recommendations (on the form provided by Loyola) from persons knowledgeable about the applicants aptitude for graduate school such as -former professors or nursing supervisors (send in application packet)
- A typed goal statement, approximately one page in length, describing your career goals and interest in graduate education (send in application packet)
- Official transcripts from all degree-granting college/university attended
- A cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher on all prior undergraduate work
- The undergraduate equivalent of 3 semester credit hours in statistics

Applicants should submit the following items in one envelope to Loyola University New Orleans, School of Nursing, Graduate Admissions, 6363 St. Charles Avenue, Box 14, New Orleans, LA 70118:
- MSN Application (Adobe PDF)
- Three Recommendations on Loyola form (Adobe PDF)
- A typed goal statement, approximately one page in length, describing your career goals in nursing and your interest in graduate education at Loyola University
- $20 application fee (check made payable to Loyola University)
- A photocopy of your RN license
