JOB DESCRIPTION

PROGRAMMER/ANALYST INFORMATION SYSTEMS

I       BASIC FUNCTION
Perform and/or support all activities in the Software
Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to include but not limited to
requirements gathering, functional analysis, detail design,
implementation, testing, deployment, maintenance, and end-
user support and training.

II      MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
A.      Acquire an understanding of the organization’s business,
third party and custom applications, and how those assets are
used to support users in their daily activities.
B.      Take responsibility for managing personal skill set to
support the organization’s technologies and platforms.
C.      Provide technical support to fellow department members,
organizational and contract users.
D.      Participate and/or supports CBC Quality programs as
assigned.
E.      Execute projects as assigned by the Senior
Programmer/Analyst.
F.      Report project status to the Senior Programmer/Analyst.
G.      Carry out the Business Philosophy, Code of Conduct, and
Mission of Canal Barge Company, Inc.

We are looking for someone who can work under a newly-hired, experienced Senior Programmer/Analyst.  He has significant programming and project management experience, so this is a great opportunity for an intelligent, motivated student who is graduating in May and wants to secure full-time employment in New Orleans.  We have a fair amount of internally-developed applications that need continuous development and enhancement to help our people make better decisions.
